Hello I am new to metal detecting !

Terve kaikkille, nyt olen tosi noobie metallidetectoriin asiaa... asun suomessa, helsingissä, mutta minun äidinkieli on englanti. Niin, olka hyvää ja pysyy anteeksi jos mun suomea on hirvea!

Quick in english:

Hi all, I am new to metal detecting, I just bought a new Garrett ACE 250 + trowel so that me and my son can spend some quality time treasure hunting (since he is totally in to Indiana Jones -- he is 6 years old) and I found this web site.

Anyway, sorry in advance for my horrible finnish skills, I keep trying everyday, but it has been 10 years and I am still not close to perfect, but I am also half finnish but grew up in America. Anyway, I hope to learn alot and this metal detecting looks like a lot of fun !

Lämpimästi tervetuloa! Vielä ehditte etsimään ennen roudan tuloa. Sitten onkin pitkä talvi edessä. Taitoa etsintään ja muistakaa laittaa esineet näytille päivän löytöihin.

Moni täällä foorumilla ymmärtää englantia, mutta ei välttämättä osaa kirjoittaa sitä.
Minäkään en osaa kirjoittaa englanniksi paljon mitään, mutta ymmärrän kyllä kun luen sitä.

Kyllä Sinun Suomenkielesi vaikuttaa oikein hyvältä, ja olisikin hienoa, jos vain mahdollista, että kirjoittaisit myös Suomeksi, niin tällainen "vanhuskin" ymmärtäisi

joo..ymmärrän suomea, mutta mun äiti ei opi minulle tosi hyvin amerikkassa kun olin poika... asuin siellä amerikkassa noin 30 vuotta ja sit tulin takaisin suomeen

ymmärrän lisää suomea kun minä voi kirjoita.

I live near jakomäki, and I know most everyone around here in my local area, since my family lived here for last 40 years and before that in Somero...but I have relatives all over the place in finland...we have a big family...my mother is moving back to finland next year after 40 years in america, so then the whole family will be back together

Now I have been here about 10 years and of course plan to stay... living in America is a little crazy right now... and my own family is here, and they do not want to move away from finland, and I have my dual citizenship...so all is good...

But if I write like a two year old who does not speak finnish so good, now you know why....

Tarkoitatko Amerikan hulluudella taloustilannetta vai jotain muuta?

Do you mean the economical situation or is there something else making it crazy?

Just reading a nice finnish language book about the reasons that lead to todays recession.

Two words: Greedy Bastards

The greed is what has done them in... making so many deals that people cannot afford ... not to mention the problem that 50 million people there don't have health care which is nuts by itself... It does not surprise me that you hear about some nut taking a shotgun every week to dunkin donuts and taking everyone out...

Don't get me wrong, I think America is a good country, but the people there cannot see past their own borders... they look at social health systems as some kind of scourge of the devil... well let me tell you that I did not go to the dentist for 20 years because I could not afford to go because I had no insurance. Now I go to the dentist in Finland every month for work done on my teeth that should have been available a long time ago... I do not mind paying so much tax, if I know my kids will have a better life here in Finland -- and I am not talking about money... sure in america, you can get rich...but money does not make you really happy.... Friends and loved ones are what I need

When I hear about those bankers still getting 100 million dollar bonuses still...while people go hungry on the streets, it makes me sick... ok enough rant

I wish them well, I just don't have to live there

I support their economy though by buying lots of USA made stuff though...the exchange rate is nice right now

If the americans would learn not to stuff themselves with all that crap, maybe they would be healthier... omg... now I have a craving for 10 tacos from taco bell with extra hot sauce

Well, in a way Maveric has a point of view in what he wrote. Why not wide the 'general discussion' to Worldwide general discussion. ? Why not. And create a new thread, Finnish general discussion. That might help my norwegian friends to participate on this forum too.
