Duck pendant
Found this in a field near Sortavala. Other finds in that field were Scandinavian brooches and Swedish coins from 1600's. I'd like to date this pendant - is it older than 1400-1500s? I wasn't able to find any similar pieces online. Thank you!

Re: Duck pendant
Thank you! I haven't yet seen a piece that would be close to identical. Ducks were a popular inspiration animal for centuries!iipe kirjoitti: ↑05 Elo 2019, 15:21 I look picture for you, but I am quite sure that it is from Viking age!

The metal looks close to this: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=16444#p192811
The dotted pattern is what makes me think the pendant may be from around Viking times, because I think they (dots) were a popular pattern back then.
