I write from Finland where I live at the moment but I'm from Italy,
got a m.d. some months ago and used few times; when I got back for some reason I had to leave it there (but waiting to bring it here with me next time I go there!)
anyway these are few finds that Ligurian mountains gave back to us...



the two half horse-shoes + key + 5 italian cents coin (1861) were found nearby Gottero mountain between La Spezia and Parma

nails and the iron down on the right (part of an old door) were found nearby a medieval castle in ruins

bullets aren't so old and got them from an abbandoned fortress a couple of km from La Spezia (Bramapane's fortress)

well, do you know one of those china/germany seben/crap?
yes I've one of those..
I got it for very cheap, just wanted to try if I really like to go around looking for stuff or if I was going to loose some enthusiasm from theory to practise ..
now I know that I like detecting (even if I went few times for few hours I got like a fever!) so I'm planning to get a better one as soon as I'll have a bit more of money (in the meanwhile i can still keep on enjoing my seben toy which anyways I noticed it's quite sensitive..)

Yes,i have heard of those craptastic seben machines. But like you said,you can try out detecting with a cheaper detector and if you like the hobby,you can always buy better detector,that discriminate better against iron etc..
